Do I need Westpac Protect™ SMS Code to set up my PayID?

You need Westpac Protect™ SMS Code to set up a PayID in personal banking.


To add your mobile number or switch from a token, call 1300 655 5058am-8pm Sydney time, 7 days or +61 2 9155 7700 from overseas.

In the Westpac App

Before trying these instructions make sure you update to the latest version of the app.  

  1. Search PayID in the Smart Search bar
  2. Tap Register now
  3. Confirm your details and tap Confirm
  4. Enter the SMS code sent to your registered mobile and tap Next

In Online Banking

  1. Go to Service > Services > Account services
  2. Select PayID/Pay to mobile
  3. Select Register now
  4. Enter the SMS code sent to your registered mobile
