I can see my card in Samsung Pay but my transaction is declined. Why?
If your Samsung Pay transaction is declined, check if the message ‘Verification Needed’ appears on the card in Samsung Pay. If that message appears, you’ll need to complete verification by requesting a one-time passcode.
Some other possible reasons for why the transaction is declining even though the mobile card still appears in Samsung Pay, include:
- The plastic card has been closed;
- There’s a block on the card;
- The card has expired;
- No internet connection;
- The payment terminal is a Mag Stripe Terminal (MST). Westpac declines Samsung Pay payments made to MST. Use your plastic card at MST instead.
