How do I change the mobile number I receive SMS codes on?

First, update your mobile number in the Westpac App or Online Banking by updating your contact details.


Updating your mobile number won’t automatically update the number used to receive Westpac Protect™ SMS security codes. To receive SMS security codes, your mobile number must be linked to your account.


To change your SMS code, you will need access to the old number. If you no longer have access, please call us on 1300 655 505 (8am-8pm Sydney time, Mon-Sun), or +61 2 9155 7700 if you’re overseas, and we’ll help link your new number so you can start receiving SMS codes.

 

Once your new number has been updated, you can follow the steps below in the Westpac App or Online Banking.

In the Westpac App

  1. Search SMS Code & Token in the Smart Search bar
  2. Tap Change number and follow the prompts.

In Online Banking

  1. Go to Service > Services > Security settings
  2. Under Security, select Change number for SMS security codes.
