Storms, lightning, flood Storm cover excludes damage to gates, fences and freestanding walls  
Fire, explosion, earthquake

   
Theft

Contents only covered if the theft occurs from inside a fully enclosed and lockable building at the insured site.

For Contents cover, theft is covered if the theft occurs from a fully enclosed and lockable building and for up to $2,000 in the open air at the insured site

Loss of rent   Up to 10% of the sum insured or for up to 12 months whichever is less
Sum insured safety net Up to 5% of the sum insured Up to 10% of the sum insured

Optional Landlord Extras

Landlord Extras provides cover against certain events caused by tenants such as theft, malicious damage or defaulting on rent payments3

  • Malicious acts or theft by tenants
  • Loss of rent due to default by tenants (but not for casually let properties). Please note, Landlord Extras may not provide cover if your tenant is unable to pay their rent due to COVID-19 circumstances.
  • Legal expenses due to rent default
  • Denial of access to tenant by Government authority
  • Damage caused by pets

Rent default cover

We’re not currently offering Landlord Extras cover, which includes cover for loss of rent due to default by tenants, to new or existing Landlord Insurance customers. There may be other insurance options available to suit your requirements; please refer to the Insurance Council of Australia for a list of alternative providers.

^ Premiums payable by instalments may be subject to minor adjustments due to rounding, and financial institution transaction fees may apply.

1. Safety net of between 5% and 20% of your sum insured, depending on your type of cover.

3. A Landlord Extras claim will only be paid if you’re able to provide certain documents and evidence such as:

•    A written rental agreement
•    A documented booking confirmation (for casually-let properties)
•    Documented property inspection reports.
The rental agreement should state the term of the lease, the amount of rent and bond payable by the tenant/s.
