Use your rewards card to help you on your dream holiday

When you’re planning a holiday every dollar counts, so why not make your money work harder for you by getting a little extra help from your Westpac Rewards card? A Westpac Rewards Credit Card has a range of benefits that you can use towards your holiday, giving you even more bang-for-your-buck.

Types of Reward Credit Cards

There are 3 types of Reward Credit Cards to choose from, each bringing a different suite of rewards and extras.

The Altitude Credit Card is our basic rewards card and you can earn either Altitude Points or Qantas Points, which can be used towards your holiday with our Altitude Rewards Program or with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

The Altitude Platinum Credit Card has all the benefits of an Altitude card with the addition of complimentary insurance and access to our 24/7 concierge service.

Lastly, the Altitude Black Credit Card not only offers our highest points earning rate but it also includes a range of premium travel and lifestyle services.

On any of these three cards, you have a choice between two rewards programs- Altitude Rewards, which allows you to earn Altitude Points to be redeemed with Altitude Travel and for frequent flyer points with a range of airlines; or Qantas Rewards, which allows you to earn Qantas Points to be redeemed with Qantas Frequent Flyer.

All our rewards cards come with an additional Westpac American Express® card, allowing you to access even more benefits such as access to savings with American Express® Connect.

 

Complimentary overseas travel insurance

If you use your Platinum or Black Rewards Card to prepay for travel expenses, then you may be eligible for complimentary travel insurance, in accordance with the policy.

You, your spouse and children may be eligible for cover if:

  • all parties have return interstate/overseas travel tickets, departing from Australia and you will all travel together for the entire journey; and
  • each person has prepaid at least $500 of their travel costs on your Platinum or Black Rewards card. For example, you and your spouse would need to have spent at least a combined amount of $1,000 in prepaid travel expenses on the card.

Flight upgrades

I’m sure we’ve all dreamed of being upgraded on a long haul flight, perhaps you have even asked at the check-in counter for a sneaky bump into business class. Well, your odds of extra leg room may become a reality with any one of the Westpac Altitude cards. If you select Altitude Rewards, you can transfer your Altitude Points to five different airline frequent flyer programs including Velocity and Krisflyer, which may entitle you to use these points towards a flight upgrade. If you select Altitude Qantas, your Qantas Points can go towards an upgrade when your fly with Qantas. Terms and conditions apply, upgrades are limited and subject to availability.

Access to airport lounges

Imagine gliding into an airport lounge and escaping the hustle of the airport. Well, if you have a Westpac Altitude Black card then you may be able to do just that. Altitude Black American Express® cardholders who have chosen Altitude Rewards can enjoy two complimentary airport lounge visits  per year when they register for Priority Pass, an independent airport lounge access program which opens the door to more than 850 participating airport lounges worldwide.

Altitude Black cardholders who have selected Altitude Qantas may be eligible for two complimentary Qantas Lounge invitations to use when they are flying with Qantas or Jetstar if they have registered their Altitude Black card and used this to purchase selected Qantas products.

Concierge Services

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a personal assistant? If you are an Altitude Rewards Platinum or Black card holder then the Westpac Concierge Service is your on-call, 24/7 assistant to help you with restaurant reservations, hotel bookings and ticket purchases.

Travel purchases

Need new luggage? Or perhaps a travel pillow? The Altitude Rewards Program has a range of travel related items that you can redeem your points for. You can also pay the difference in cash if you don’t have quite enough points.

Rewards Points: The earning and redemption of Altitude Points and Qantas Points is subject to the Altitude Rewards and Altitude Qantas Terms and Conditions. You do not receive points if your card account is in arrears for 2 consecutive statement cycles and in other circumstances.

 

Points earning for Altitude

For each statement cycle a points cap of 5,000 Altitude Points or 2,500 Qantas Points applies when using either or both cards. Bonus points do not count towards the points cap.

 

Points earning for Altitude Platinum

For each statement cycle a points cap of 7,500 Altitude Points or 3,750 Qantas Points applies when using either or both cards.

 

Altitude Rewards: You must be a member of the relevant frequent flyer program to redeem Altitude Points for frequent flyer points. The Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions and the terms and conditions of the relevant frequent flyer program apply. A joining fee may apply. Availability of Reward flights may be limited. Altitude Qantas: In order to earn and redeem points, you must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

 

Qantas Store Products are for delivery in Australia and New Zealand only (and different products are available in each delivery location). Redemption of points through the online store is subject to terms and conditions (including store terms of use and voucher terms and conditions). See qantas.com/store for details.

 

Qantas & Partner Classic Reward Seats are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited. The number of seats available depends on the flight, date, season and destination. Some flights may not have any Classic Reward seats available. For Classic Reward flights, taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to the points required, are subject to change and are quoted at the time of booking. Reward flights must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (and other advance booking requirements may apply).

 

Flight Upgrades are subject to capacity controls and availability is limited. Flight upgrades are not available on Classic Rewards or on international airfares booked in E, N, O, P, Q, and X class (which includes some Any Seat Rewards and some Red e-Deals). You must have an eligible paid and confirmed ticket on a Qantas operated service (with a QF flight number on your ticket).

 

Qantas & Jetstar Any Seat Rewards are available on any flight with a QF or JQ flight number. The points required will be quoted when booked. There is no fixed relationship between the cash price charges by the applicable airline for a seat and the points required to redeem an Any Seat Reward through Qantas Frequent Flyer. Special promotional fares may not apply. Reward flights must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (and other advanced booking requirements may apply). Complimentary insurance covers: QBE Insurance (Australia) Limited ABN 78 003 191 035 AFSL 239545 has issued an insurance group policy to Westpac Banking Corporation ABN 33 007 457 141 which allows eligible Westpac account holders and cardholders to claim under it as third party beneficiaries. Priority Pass Membership: To enrol, go to prioritypass.com/axwestpacblack. Lounge usage in excess of two visits and all guest visits will be charged directly to your Altitude Black American Express Card at the visit fee of currently US$27 per person, per visit. The first two visits within each 12 month membership period are complimentary to the primary cardholder only, after which every visit would be charged as per the prevailing rates. Any accompanying guests will be charged US$27 per visit, which will be automatically charged on the cardholder’s Altitude Black American Express Card. The date of visits determine which year of membership the visit is allocated to. Unused visits cannot be carried forward to the following year of membership. Qantas Club Lounge Invitations - To be eligible for the two complimentary Qantas Club Lounge invitations, you must first register at www.qantas.com and then use your Westpac Altitude Black Card in Australia to purchase selected Qantas products and services. Selected Qantas products and services are the following items purchased directly from Qantas: Qantas passenger flights (with a QF flight number), Qantas Frequent Flyer and Qantas Club membership joining and annual fees. Excludes Jetstar, Qantas Holidays, Qantas branded non-airfare products and any Qantas products and services not purchased directly from Qantas. Each year, you will receive two complimentary lounge invitations once you have made the required spend on selected Qantas products and services. Qantas Club Lounge Invitations are provided courtesy of Westpac, and are valid for Qantas Club and Qantas operated international Business Lounges only. Not valid in International First Class lounges, Chairman’s Lounge, Qantas Domestic Business, Qantas oneworld® alliance airline, partner airline or associated lounges. Each invitation is valid for a single visit before the date specified on the invitation, when travelling with Qantas or Jetstar with a QF or JQ flight number. Access and use is subject to Qantas Club rules which are available at qantas.com/qantasclub. The two Qantas Club Lounge invitations will be sent to your Card account mailing address within 4 weeks of your eligible card spend, provided you are not in breach of the Conditions of Use and your account remains open. The two Qantas Club Lounge invitations will expire on the date printed on the invitations. Qantas Club Lounge invitations will not be issued to customers who do not first register at Qantas.com.au prior to making the eligible card spend.
