Can I use Apple Pay as a backup if lose my physical card?

No, if your physical card is placed on hold, reported lost or stolen or cancelled then the Device Account Number that was created when adding the card to Apple Pay cannot be used to process transactions.

If your physical card has been lost or stolen, you can:

  • Sign into Westpac Online Banking and self-serve to report your physical card lost or stolen
  • Contact Customer Care to report your physical card lost or stolen
  • Report your card as lost or stolen in a branch.

If your card has been temporarily misplaced, you can sign into Westpac Online Banking and self-serve to place a temporary block on your physical card.

Once your physical card is reported lost or stolen or placed on hold you will be unable to use Apple Pay. If you have reported your card lost or stolen, you will receive a replacement physical card, which will need to be activated before you can use it.

You can use your digital card details to add your replacement card to Apple Pay while you wait for the physical card to arrive.
