Hands-free help from  the Google Assistant

Check your account balance, recent transaction history, and reward points status with Westpac and the Google Assistant.

 

The Google Assistant is your own personal Google, always ready to help. Ask it questions. Tell it to do things.

 

Westpac works with Google Assistant enabled devices like Google Home* and AndroidTM or iPhone devices. Learn more about the Google Assistant and devices that work with the Google Assistant.

Get a balance update on your everyday bank and savings accounts, credit cards, or reward points.

Check your transactions

Find out about recent transactions on your linked accounts.


Just start by saying “Hey Google, talk to Westpac”  

“What are my last transactions?”

“What were the recent transactions on my credit card?”

“How many reward points do I have?”

“What’s my points balance?”


Get started

To use Westpac with your Google Assistant, first download the Google Assistant app on your smartphone.
 

Step 1:     Download and open Google Assistant mobile app

Step 2:     Tap Explore

Step 3.    Search for “Westpac” and tap on the Westpac card that appears

Step 4.    Tap “Link"

Step 5.    Read and Agree to the Terms and Conditions

By using the Westpac with your Google Assistant, you agree to be bound by Google’s terms of Service and Westpac’s Online Banking Terms and Conditions.

Step 6:    Sign in with your Westpac customer ID and password

Before you can set up Westpac with your Google Assistant, you will need to be registered for Westpac Live Online Banking.

Step 7:    Link up to 3 eligible accounts

You can link up to 3 eligible accounts, including Westpac Choice, eSaver and Altitude Black or Platinum credit cards.

Step 8:    Create a unique 4-digit passcode

For an added layer of security, set up a unique 4-digit passcode to access the Westpac Action. Your password should be different to your banking PIN, as your passcode will need to be said out aloud. If you set up a 4-digit passcode, you will be prompted to provide your passcode every time you open the Westpac Action. You can interact with the Westpac Action for up to 10 minutes without needing to provide the passcode again.

Step 9:    Start using

Start using Westpac with the Google Assistant by saying “Hey Google, talk to Westpac”.


Eligible accounts

You can link up to 3 eligible accounts, including Westpac Choice, eSaver and Altitude Black or Platinum credit cards. Most everyday and savings accounts, and credit cards are eligible.
 

The following account types cannot be linked:
 

  • variable investment loans
  • fixed rate personal loans
  • investment property loans
  • term deposits
  • foreign currency accounts
  • superannuation accounts and online investing accounts.

By using Westpac with your Google Assistant, you agree to be bound by Google’s terms of Service. Google collects, stores and processes certain information in connection with your use of of Westpac with the Google Assistant (e.g. transcripts and voice recordings). Westpac has no control over your information shared via Westpac with your Google Assistant.

For your privacy and security, please don't share any personal information while using Westpac with the Google Assistant .

You also agree to be bound by Westpac’s Online Banking Terms and Conditions and acknowledge that the Westpac with the Google Assistant functionality is as set out above.
