Important COVID-19 update

From 30 June 2022, selected COVID-19 cover is available in the International Travel Insurance coverage under the following sections1:

To make a claim and to check or get confirmation of your eligibility for international travel insurance, we encourage you go online to Allianz Global Assistance. International travel insurance claims can be lodged online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Alternatively, you can contact them on 1800 091 710.

The information below is a summary only of the complimentary insurance covers we have available to Westpac cardholders on selected business credit cards. Please refer to the Westpac Business Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance Policy (PDF 428KB) for full details on benefits, terms, limits, conditions and exclusions. An excess may be deducted from certain payments as detailed in the policy booklet.

International Travel Insurance

Access to up to 6 months' complimentary cover for Level 1 Cards or up to 3 months’ complimentary cover for Level 2 Cards for International Travel Insurance when you meet the eligibility criteria as set out in the Credit Card Complimentary Insurance Policy including prepaying $500 of your travel costs to your eligible card and holding a return overseas ticket before departing Australia, (see policy document for full eligibility criteria, terms, conditions, and exclusions)1.

Extended Warranty Insurance

Up to 24 months extended warranty insurance cover (in addition to the manufacturer's expressed Australian warranty) on a range of personal items purchased using your Credit Card and up to 3 months on Business items (terms, conditions, exclusions and eligibility criteria apply)1.

Overseas Transit Accident Insurance

Overseas Transit Accident insurance covers against specified accidental death or injury when sustained overseas while riding, boarding or alighting as a passenger in a plane, bus, train or shorthaul ferry when you have purchased the tickets for the entire trip using your Credit Card before you leave (terms, conditions, exclusions and eligibility criteria apply)1.

Unauthorised Transaction Insurance

Unauthorised Transaction Insurance will indemnify the accountholder for eligible unauthorised transaction (terms, conditions, exclusions and eligibility criteria apply)1.

Making a claim

If you want to make a claim under this policy, you must:

Whilst you are overseas:

Allianz Global Assistance will request documentation to confirm your eligibility and process your claim.

If you are in Australia, (or when you return to Australia) you should follow the steps listed below.


Contact Allianz Global Assistance on 1800 091 710 as soon as possible of returning home from overseas or interstate (even if you have previously reported the matter to Allianz Global Assistance), or if you are already home, contact us as soon as possible of learning of an occurrence (loss, damage or breakdown) that may result in a claim.

Things you should know
1. Complimentary insurance covers: AWP Australia Pty Ltd ABN 52 097 227 177 AFSL 245631, trading as Allianz Global Assistance (AGA), under a binder from the insurer, Allianz Australia Insurance Limited ABN 15 000 122 850 AFSL 234708 (Allianz), has issued an insurance group policy to Westpac Banking Corporation ABN 33 007 457 141 AFSL and Australian credit licence 233714 (Westpac) which allows eligible persons to claim under it as third party beneficiaries. Access to the benefit of cover under the Credit Card Complimentary Insurance is provided to eligible Westpac cardholders by operation of s48 of the Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth). If an eligible persons wishes to claim any of these benefits, they will be bound by the eligibility criteria, terms, conditions, limits and exclusions contained in the  Westpac Business Credit Cards Complimentary Insurance Policy (PDF 428KB) /   Commercial Cards Insurance Policy (PDF 160KB) which may be amended from time to time.
