What our graduates have to say
"As part of the Corporate & Institutional Banking Graduate Program, I had the opportunity to rotate through the Energy, Infrastructure & Resources, Loan Syndications, and Credit Portfolio Management teams. These rotations allowed me to gain a strong understanding of the bank’s operations while building meaningful relationships across CIB and broader Westpac.
I have completed a Bachelor of Commerce and am currently studying for a Master of Applied Finance. While working part‑time in the superannuation industry, I decided to apply for the CIB Summer Internship Program. During the internship, I worked in the Health and Non‑Bank Financial Institutions teams, where I gained exposure to a new area of financial services and developed a strong foundation in credit analysis.
The internship and graduate programs provided extensive on‑the‑job training, formal learning sessions, and support from colleagues. These experiences helped me develop both new skills and refine my existing skillset, while confirming my interest in pursuing a long‑term career in finance.
Since rolling off the program…
I am now an Associate Credit Analyst in the Energy, Infrastructure & Resources team within CIB. In this role, I support the management of a diverse portfolio of renewable, utilities, infrastructure, and natural resources clients. My responsibilities include monitoring and analysing financial performance, management capability, industry dynamics and ESG risks, as well as assisting with the execution of new transactions to help clients achieve their strategic and financial objectives.
The program, along with the ongoing support of my managers, mentors, and colleagues, has encouraged me to continuously challenge myself and grow both professionally and personally."
