The application process
Step 2: Online Assessments
If you’re successful during our screening process, you’ll be invited to complete a series of online assessments which help us to determine how our values align and your suitability for the role. You’ll receive an email detailing what you need to do to complete the online assessments and the specific deadlines - in some cases this may only be 48 hours.
If you don’t complete your assessments in the time frames specified, we won’t be able to consider your application further.
You may face two testing invitations as below:
- Culture fit assessment – this measures the degree to which a candidate aligns with Westpac Group's aspirational culture and whether they will be a good cultural fit for the organisation.
- Psychometric testing – this gamified assessment suite evaluates problem-solving skills and cognitive ability, along with emotional intelligence.

Step 3: Video Interview
If your application is successful, you’ll be invited to complete a video interview. If you have never completed a video interview before, it may be a good idea to get a feel for the process by recording yourself answering interview questions and then watching the replay to gauge your confidence, body language and ability to answer the question being asked.
Check your background, lighting and camera angle. Don’t panic - you'll get a practice run to test your mic and camera! You will also have some time to read the question and get prepared before hitting record. Video interviews are not live, but be prepared and remember that you cannot pause, stop or restart the interview.

Step 4: Assessment Centre
Once you’re through these steps successfully, you’ll be welcomed to a virtual assessment centre experience involving: a one-on-one interview, a business-related case study and a group activity. You will have an opportunity to interact with our business representatives, so maximise this experience by asking questions and find out if this is the right fit for you – it’s time to grill us too!
Research is important. Think about why you have applied and what you can bring to the role. It helps to show us your personality. Relax and enjoy the experience. We only want to see you shine and put your best foot forward!
