What our graduates have to say

I studied a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Finance and Business Law at the University of Sydney. My enjoyment of my degree led me to apply to Westpac’s Business & Wealth Program, which I was particularly drawn to due to its rotational structure, strong reputation, and for the opportunity to develop a broader understanding of business banking.

The rotational nature of the Graduate Program provided exposure across a range of divisions within Business & Wealth, enabling me to form informed views on the role I wanted to pursue after the program. Each five-month rotation gave me a strong understanding of how each team operates, while also allowing me to build meaningful networks and explore career opportunities within those teams.

Working within such a large and diverse organisation, I was also keen to gain broader exposure across the bank. The flexibility of the program enabled me to spend time across Retail Banking, Small & Medium Enterprise Banking, and Financial Markets. These experiences were both enjoyable and insightful. They have been pivotal in shaping my understanding of how the broader divisions of Westpac operate.

In addition to the day-to-day learning, the Westpac Graduate Program fostered a highly social environment, enabling me to form friendships across different graduate streams. I was fortunate to be part of Westpac’s Graduate Engagement Committee, in which a team of graduates organised events including trivia, coffee roulette, and inter-bank drinks. Having a cohort of new employees in a similar position created a strong support network as we found our feet and, importantly, added significant enjoyment to the program.
