Property Risk & Resilience (PRR) delivers Westpac Group’s property, physical security, service provider governance, and operational resilience capabilities. We provide a unique opportunity to be part of a function that protects and enables the organisation, from crisis and incident response to the governance of critical service providers, the management of our property and workplace environments, and the delivery of our security and business continuity frameworks.
PRR has a broad and evolving remit spanning Property & Security, Business Resilience, and risk and governance activities supporting major initiatives and critical operations. This includes managing our property footprint across corporate sites, branches, and data centres, strengthening resilience across the Group, and overseeing the governance and performance of key service providers to ensure continuity and operational effectiveness.

PRR graduates are part of a dynamic and evolving program that offers flexibility, breadth, and the opportunity to shape their own development journey across Property Risk & Resilience.
Given the scope of PRR, graduates gain exposure to a diverse range of disciplines that underpin the safety, security, sustainability, and resilience of our operations. Each experience is intentionally varied, enabling graduates to build a well-rounded understanding of the function while discovering areas of genuine interest and passion.
No two rotations are the same. One day you might be assessing risks associated with a major service provider or project, the next supporting the Group’s response to a business disruption or crisis, contributing to the governance and risk oversight of large-scale transformation initiatives such as UNITE, or engaging in site-based activities across property developments and workplace environments.
Across rotations, graduates will:
- Build core professional capabilities including communication, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and commercial acumen.
- Develop specialist knowledge across key areas such as sustainability, crisis management, business continuity, operational risk, service provider governance, and project delivery.
- Gain insight into how operational and transformation risks are identified, assessed, and managed, including exposure to governance frameworks supporting major programs and critical operations.
- Engage with a broad network of stakeholders, initiatives, and programs across Property & Security, Business Resilience, and the wider UCO division.
The program is designed to create capable, adaptable professionals who can contribute to a function that plays a critical role in protecting, securing, and enabling the organisation.
12-24 month program with 2-4 x 6-month rotations.
You will complete six-month rotations in teams across Group Property & Security, Group Procurement and Operational Resilience.
You may have an opportunity to undertake a rotation in, or otherwise get exposure to projects in other areas of the Customer and Corporate Services division, which may include:
- Business Controls & Monitoring – supporting with risk management and control testing
- Transformation – help deliver transformational projects for the division.

Eligibility and how to apply
We’re looking to fill our programs with original thinkers and innovators from all degrees of study. We embrace diversity, recognising the value people bring to us with their individual differences, qualities, ideas and insights.
To apply for our graduate program:
- You must be in your final year of study of a university degree.
- You must have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the past three years.
- You also need to be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident when you apply.
What you can expect
When you start
You’ll start with us as a permanent employee in February each year. Your program will vary based on the business area where you choose to work.
Throughout the program
We’ll provide loads of learning and support to help you make the most of the experience. The program is structured to help you identify your focus areas. Tailored training sessions build and strengthen your technical and soft skills - accelerating your personal and professional career development.
Day-to-day
You’ll complete a rotational program to help you to learn about different parts of your business area. It’s packed full of different roles, teams and project experiences. At the end of your program, you’ll be supported to find a role that best suits your capabilities and interests.
Expect to contribute from day one and have an impact on the business.
Expect plenty of opportunities to get involved in grad life where you can build your networks and friendships with those you work with, including business leaders, project leads and program sponsors.
