In the past, our Grads’ exposure has ranged from supporting employees with People policy advice to helping launch an employee self-service portal; contributing to the research, strategy and initiatives behind our vision to developing websites, social media strategies and brand campaigns to attract new employees and build engagement with existing employees; and shadowing senior leaders, which provided the opportunity to participate in associated workshops, training and summits. Participating in extra-curricular groups such as The Youth Network and community initiatives, including graduate committees, is also all part of the Grad experience.

What our graduates have to say
I chose the People program at Westpac because it gave me the chance to build real, hands-on experience across different HR teams, such as Advice and Reward, while developing both my technical and people skills. The rotations were genuinely challenging but accelerated my learning, with strong support from the teams and exposure to meaningful work. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a program that pushes you out of your comfort zone while still being really supportive and collaborative.
