Transformation
Transformation at Westpac is about delivering practical change that improves how the bank operates for our people, products and customers.

We need to continually simplify, evolve and compete in a rapidly changing environment.
We invest in transformation to simplify the way we work, strengthen how we support customers, and continually evolve our products and services to remain competitive in a rapidly changing environment.
Our expertise / impact
Our work delivers tangible outcomes for customers, including simpler interactions, more reliable services, and products that continuously improve over time.
Important information
You’ll have the opportunity to rotate through roles such as project management, change management or business analyst roles across different areas of the bank, such as Consumer, Business or Institutional Banking.
Working with a range of teams and leaders, you’ll contribute to defined problems, deliverables and outcomes within larger transformation programs focused on improving how the bank works, from simplifying processes to improving customer and staff experiences.
- Project Manager: You’ll help to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, clearly scoped and well-coordinated by planning, managing and tracking specific workstreams and milestones
- Change Manager: You’ll focus on how change impacts our customers and teams, not just what is delivered. You’ll support communication and engagement activities, help identify adoption risks, and assist in measuring whether change has been successful
- Business Analyst: You’ll focus on understanding problems, identifying opportunities and gathering requirements to support the design and delivery of practical solutions. You won’t just document work, you’ll be expected to apply judgement, ask questions and propose options.
12-month program with 3 x 4-month rotations.
Only available in Sydney, NSW.

What our graduates have to say
As a Transformation Graduate at Westpac, no two days are the same. This environment is dynamic, fast-paced, and at the forefront of organisational and technological change.
My week is a mix of project workshops, stakeholder meetings, and focused delivery work – from building Power Apps and automations to improve process efficiency, to supporting large-scale transformation initiatives. I’ve rotated across Corporate & Institutional Banking, Business Lending, and One Commercial Bank (UNITE, Business & Wealth), taking on different roles including Business Analyst and Change Manager, and gaining exposure to diverse parts of the business. With opportunities to complete certifications in Agile Methodologies and Lean Six Sigma, there is always an opportunity to grow.
Alongside my formalities, my week is filled with coffee connects with team members and new contacts, lunch with fellow grads, and after-work networking drinks here and there. This program offered engagement at all angles.
One of the highlights has been the opportunity to connect and network with people across the bank – whether through cross-functional project work, coffee connects, or my role as Events Lead in the Graduate Engagement Committee. The program offers strong support and continuous learning opportunities, helping you grow quickly while taking real ownership early in your career.”
Tiffany, 2025 Transformation Graduate
“If you're looking for a program that gives you real ownership early, broad exposure across the business, and the chance to make a tangible impact – the Transformation Graduate Program is a great place to start. A typical week for me involved a mix of analysis, delivery and stakeholder engagement, with each rotation bringing new teams, priorities and challenges. I worked across initiatives spanning process improvement, customer experience and digital onboarding uplift, including analysing data and information whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape and refine solutions.
What I found most valuable was the level of ownership and trust given early on, balanced with strong support from experienced colleagues who were genuinely invested in my development. The program provided meaningful, hands-on learning and exposure across the organisation, helping me build a strong skillset, expand my network, and gain a well-rounded understanding of how Westpac operates.”
Megs, 2025 Transformation Graduate
