As an Administrator, manage account access online for your business accounts.
Who can remove signatory access and change operating rules in Online Banking?
Administrators can manage access and add Users to a business network. By signing into Online Business Banking using their 8-digit customer number and password, Administrators can also raise requests to:
- View and remove signatory access
- Change operating rules

How can I view and remove signatory access to accounts?
In Online Banking
- Go to Service > Manage account access
- Select Manage signatory access
Tip: When adding details for approvers, you’ll need the following information about them:
- Full name as registered with Westpac (or as written on their ID if not a customer)
- 8-digit customer number

Frequently asked questions
A signatory is someone with in-branch transaction access only. Account signatory can withdraw and deposit funds into their respective accounts.

- Submit form to branch
- Go to your nearest Westpac branch with the printed form.
If the signatory you’re amending or adding isn’t an existing Westpac user, they must go to the branch and present their identity documents.

Authorised persons may operate on the Account Holder’s account(s) on their behalf as follows, subject to the relevant Operating Rule and the terms and conditions of the relevant account:
- To draw cheques and other instruments.
- To stop any cheque or other instrument drawn on the account(s).
- To overdraw an account to any approved limit, and to the extent permitted by the Bank.
- To authorise (and cancel) Periodical Payments or Direct Debits and debit that account with any charges or costs relating to such payments.
- To authorise (and cancel) Periodical Payments all parties are required to attend a branch to provide consent.
- To operate and enter into agreements to operate on the account(s) in any way permitted by the Bank including transactions by electronic, mechanical and other means including methods of access which may be introduced in the future.
- For Account holders who are organisations, where users do not have access to Westpac Online Banking, to give instructions to pause, resume or cancel PayTo agreements by contacting their relationship manager.
- When an account is a Westpac Term Deposit or Farm Management Deposit account:
- fund an existing account;receive payment of deposit monies and interest;
- give instructions on the payment (whether at maturity or otherwise) or renewal of that deposit.
- To transfer accounts between branches (this may not be allowed for accounts held in Victoria).
- To close all or any of the accounts.
- To make, accept, endorse or discount cheques and other instruments made payable to, or to the order of, the Account Holder or, where the Account Holder is a trustee, to the estate or trust.
- To make enquiries, to give instructions and generally to request and receive information in relation to the accounts.
- To give instructions as to the receipt of payments into the account(s), including in relation to the registration of a PayID.
- Any other terms and conditions that the Account Holder may have agreed to.
An Operating Rule defines how authorised person are allowed to act on a bank account. It determines whether authorised persons can operate independently or must act jointly, and it directly affects how transactions and authorisations are handled.
Types of Operating Rules:
- Any (1) to sign: Any one authorised person can operate and sign independently.
- At least (2–9) to sign: A specified number of authorised persons must act together.
- All to sign: All authorised persons must act jointly to operate the account
A person with signatory access is not automatically given access to Online Banking. To understand more about Online Banking permissions, please visit this page.
Switching to this rule:
- Cancels debit cards linked to the account
- Restricts online and phone banking to view-only access
- Requires all signatories to be present for actions such as changing overdraw preferences, closing account or authorising withdrawals
