Why Online Banking? Online banking gives you secure access to your accounts and key banking services – anywhere at any time1. Sole traders and partnerships can register online. If you’re a company, you’ll need to complete an application form (PDF 2MB) and return it to your nearest Westpac branch or your Relationship Manager.

How to register for Online Banking

Getting started is simple

  • With a few simple steps you can bank anywhere, anytime on desktop, mobile or tablet.1
  • You'll need your 8-digit Customer ID or card number to register
  • If you’re already using your account, we might ask you to reference an old Westpac bank statement

Once you’ve registered, an Administrator can set-up Westpac Online Banking in 4 simple steps:

Step 1
. Activate your security device

Step 2. Establish your banking features

Step 3. Add users and set up their access

Step 4. Decide if you require third party accounts.


You can then enable add-ons and services such as these, to make it easier for you to do business:

If your Westpac account is compromised as a result of internet fraud, our Online Banking Security Guarantee will repay any missing funds, provided you comply with our Online Banking Terms and Conditions.3

2.To be eligible for Biz Invoice you must be registered for Online Banking and hold a Westpac Business One Low Plan or Business One High Plan or Foreign Currency Account (excluding the Chinese Yuan RMB foreign currency account).  Terms and conditions, fees and charges apply in relation to the above accounts. Read the disclosure documents for your selected product or service, including the Terms and Conditions or Product Disclosure Statement for  Westpac's Online Banking facilityBusiness transaction accounts and  Foreign currency account (PDF 291KB), before deciding. 

3. Westpac Online Banking Security Guarantee ensures that customers will be reimbursed for any unauthorised transactions provided that the customer has not contributed to the loss and contacted Westpac promptly. Refer to the Online Banking terms and conditions for full details, including when a customer will be liable.
