Our Sustainability Strategy aligns to Westpac’s strategy and purpose. It shows how we seek to embed sustainability across our five strategic priorities, and how our key focus areas will guide our efforts.

Sustainability outcomes

  • Support the goals of the Paris Agreement by achieving our Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions targets by 20301.
  • Partner with customers to implement green, transition, social (including housing affordability) or sustainability activities by providing $55bn sustainable lending and $40bn sustainable bond facilitation activities by 20302.
  • Support customers’ economic resilience and prosperity by increasing our footprint and growing lending to regional businesses and communities faster than in metro Australia.


We seek to continue understanding and addressing other material sustainability topics, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), across our business.
