When you apply for a job at Westpac our dedicated Veteran Career Specialist will review your application and give you advice on how to translate your experience. They will also give you tips on how to call out your skills and achievements in the context of each role.
Each individual will have their own preferred way of staying connected and supported when transitioning from military to a corporate career. At Westpac we are creating various ways for our veterans to feel supported and build a successful career within the Group, such as;
- The Veterans Employee Action Group (EAG) – George Frazis, Executive sponsor
- Assigned military mentor – Identified through the EAG – to work closely with the new employee to help a successful transition
- Non-military mentor – appointed through the EAG – to work closely as another support liaison. This contact will have a link to the military or an understanding and appreciation of the transition.
- Wellbeing plan
- Six monthly check-ins with the dedicated recruiter and hiring manager.
