Introductory special rate for the first 5 months

When does the introductory special rate apply?

An introductory fixed bonus rate of 0.95% p.a. applies for the first 5 months, on top of the standard variable rate when you are a new Westpac eSaver customer:

After 5 months the standard variable rate, currently 0.05% p.a. will apply to your eSaver account.

When is interest paid to my eSaver account?

Interest is paid on the last business day of each calendar month.

Balances in your account on or after the last business day won't be included in the interest calculation for that month but will be included in the interest calculation for the following month. Balances include deposits made to your account.

Total variable interest rate Up to 1.00% p.a.
Standard variable base rate (when no standard variable bonus rate applies) 0.40% p.a.
Standard variable bonus rate 0.60% p.a.

How do I earn bonus interest on my Westpac Life account?

Bonus interest is payable each month that you:

  • Make a deposit to the account;
  • Ensure your account balance is higher at the end than the beginning; and
  • Keep your account balance above $0 at all times.

A month is the period from close of business on the last business day of the previous month to close of business on the last business day of the current month.

Westpac Bump

How do I earn bonus interest on my Bump Savings account?

Bonus interest is payable each month that you:

  • Make a deposit to the account;
  • Ensure your account balance is higher at the end than the beginning; and
  • Keep your account balance above $0 at all times.

For bonus interest qualification, a month is the period from close of business on the last business day of the previous month to close of business on the last business day of the current month.

When is interest paid to my Bump Savings account?

Interest is paid on the last business day of each calendar month. Balances in your account on and after the last business day won't be included in the interest calculation for that month but will be included in the interest calculation for the following month. Balances include deposits made to your account.

What is the Term Deposit Variation Period rate?

Westpac Term Deposits have a 6 business day Variation Period, starting from the date of maturity. During this time you can make one change, including withdrawing funds or closing your account, without incurring a fee (or a reduction in your interest return for interest earned during the immediately preceding term).  If you do close your account during the Variation Period you will be paid any undispersed interest earned throughout your term plus the Variation Period interest rate on your balance for the period between the date of maturity and the date the account was closed. The Variation Period rate is a variable rate, and is currently 0.05%.
