Overseas Security Code

Yes, you can use the Westpac Protect™ Security Code while overseas, but we suggest you schedule any payments prior to leaving. You will need to activate international roaming with your mobile phone provider to receive security codes via SMS or the Westpac App.
Yes, you can remove Westpac Protect™ Security Code whilst overseas however, the maximum Daily Limit that can be chosen is $1,500. Call us on 1300 655 505 prior to leaving for overseas to make these arrangements.
The Westpac Protect™ Security Code will be sent instantly to your phone as an SMS or a Push notification. A short delay may occur due to international roaming limitations. Please call us on 1300 655 505 or +61 2 9155 7700 if you do not receive your Westpac Protect™ Security Code.

Yes, you can provide your overseas mobile phone number however the SMS service may not be supported by local mobile contract providers.  Additionally, there are some countries that cannot be selected via Westpac Live.  Please call us on 1300 655 505 or +61 2 9155 7700 for assistance if your country is not listed in the drop down list.

If you are an overseas resident and have a mobile phone from your country of residence you can provide your overseas mobile phone number, however the Security Code service may not be supported by local mobile contract providers.
