As Brand and Marketing, our role is to shape how the world sees, feels, hears and experiences our incredible portfolio of brands.

Through an immersive hands-on experience, you will develop skills across a wide range of marketing disciplines and teams, contributing to the overall growth and success of the Westpac Group.

Important information

As a graduate, you will have the opportunity to engage with all areas of Brand & Marketing, with a rotation within each of the Marketing & Media, Sponsorships and Voice of Customer teams:

  • Marketing & Media – the team brings together top-tier marketing talent and an in-house creative agency to deliver work that connects, inspires and shapes how Australians experience our brand every day.
  • Sponsorships – the team is responsible for setting the sponsorship strategy, portfolio management, contract negotiations and leveraging major sponsorship programs for all Westpac Group brands.
  • Voice of Customer – the team deep dive into data, uncover insights that drive strategy and help shape decisions at every level of the business.

 

You will be surrounded by leaders who are invested in your development and focused on providing tailored experiences to match your area of expertise.

12-month program with 3 x 4-month rotations.

Only available in Sydney, NSW.

This program has been designed for you to build valuable skills and experience through hands-on experience, securing you a permanent role at the completion of the program to set you up for success in your future career with Brand & Marketing.

Eligibility and how to apply

We’re looking to fill our programs with original thinkers and innovators from all degrees of study. We embrace diversity, recognising the value people bring to us with their individual differences, qualities, ideas and insights.

 

To apply for our graduate program:

  • You must be in your final year of study of a university degree.
  • You must have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree within the past three years.
  • You also need to be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident when you apply.

What you can expect

When you start

You’ll start with us as a permanent employee in February each year. Your program will vary based on the business area where you choose to work.

Throughout the program

We’ll provide loads of learning and support to help you make the most of the experience. The program is structured to help you identify your focus areas. Tailored training sessions build and strengthen your technical and soft skills - accelerating your personal and professional career development.

Day-to-day

You’ll complete a rotational program to help you to learn about different parts of your business area. It’s packed full of different roles, teams and project experiences. At the end of your program, you’ll be supported to find a role that best suits your capabilities and interests.


Expect to contribute from day one and have an impact on the business.


Expect plenty of opportunities to get involved in grad life where you can build your networks and friendships with those you work with, including business leaders, project leads and program sponsors.


Expect to be able to give back. Join numerous communities, volunteering and sustainability initiatives - rounding out your whole work life experience.

“I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (IS) at UNSW and upon graduation, I felt overwhelmed at first on the type of career I wanted to grow and develop in.


As a person I am very extroverted, and someone who is motivated to make a difference. That’s when I stumbled upon the Brand and Marketing Graduate Program here at Westpac. I first thought to myself that being an IS Graduate, how can I be involved with Marketing? Regardless of this inhibition, I’ve decided to apply because I wanted to challenge myself and see how something as creative as marketing has a place for an IS Grad like me.


Being part of the Brand and Marketing Grad Cohort has certainly been a fantastic learning experience, as I was able to apply the knowledge I garnered from university, alongside the training during my rotations.


At first, I was overwhelmed, but the experience I gathered during my rotations have help my upskill in areas I have not set foot into before!


Since rolling off, I am now a part of the Data & Analytics Division under the Chief Brand & Marketing Office.


I work as an Analyst, and to cut a long story short, the purpose of this role is to decipher the story between the data elements. It is, to turn something numerical and quantitative into actionable insights & business intelligence.


All in all, the Graduate Experience has been phenomenal. I had the opportunity to network, upskill, learn, and execute tasks from the get-go.”
