Mobile Banking - Supported devices and operating systems

Please ensure you’re using an up to date operating system and browser in order to access Westpac mobile banking. This ensures you are able to access our full range of features and the latest enhancements, including security and stability improvements.

We support the following minimum requirements. If you use an unsupported operating system, you won’t be able to access mobile banking.

  • iPhone and iPad devices with fingerprint capability and iOS 8.0 or above.
  • Version 6.0 or above
    of the Westpac Mobile Banking app.
  • This feature is unavailable on jailbroken devices.
  • Android smartphones with fingerprint capability and Android 6.0 or above for Samsung phones.
  • Version 7.2 or above of the Westpac Mobile Banking app.
  • This feature is unavailable on rooted devices.

Face ID
  • iPhone X devices with iOS 9 and above.
  • Version 8.2 or above of the Westpac Banking app.

  • You'll also need the Westpac Mobile Banking app (version 6.1 or above) installed on your iPhone and for Quick Balance you'll need version 6.5 or above.

How to update your mobile banking app

Android:

  1. Open the Play Store app and slide out the left hand menu.
  2. Tap on My apps, to see apps that have an available update.
  3. Look for the banking app icon and tap on Update.

iOS devices:

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Tap the Updates icon at the bottom of the screen.

How to check what version you are on

Open the Westpac Mobile Banking app and tap the menu button (three purple lines) located at the top left. The version number is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
