Bringing fans the footy

Westpac Catch&Keep
Up until now, if you catch a stray ball during the footy, you have to throw it back. Now, for the first time ever, if the match ball goes into the crowd during the 2023 NRLW & NRL Grand Finals, the lucky fan who catches it, gets to keep it! That’s a priceless piece of rugby league history – and ultimate bragging rights!
Westpac Catch&Keep will run at the NRL and NRLW grand final matches on 1 October 2023.
Not just a new ball, but a whole new ball game.
We’re excited to announce a partnership with the National Rugby League – one of Australia’s most popular sports.
Sport is for everyone – which is why we’re especially proud to commit equal financial support for the men’s and women’s game with dollar-for-dollar investment. Together with the NRL, we’re looking forward to helping grow the game and enabling more people to participate and enjoy the sport they love.

Support from the ground up
We’re committed to levelling the playing field by backing emerging players to be the best they can be both on and off the field, and supporting the heartlands of rugby league at a grassroots community level including:
Equal opportunities
The RISE Rookie Academy, presented by Westpac will help find, train and develop the next generation of NRLW players. This will support the league’s growth from six to 10 NRL clubs in 2023.
Community access
As an Official Partner of NRL Road to Regions, our investment will help grow a program that already gives over 25,000 members of regional communities the chance to get involved with Rugby League every year – as players, officials, volunteers, or fans. We’ll also be presenting partner of the NRL Community Awards.
Support beyond the field
The RISE Coach Development Program is designed to develop and empower the next generation of coaches. We’ll also share a program to teach lifelong positive financial literacy habits for anyone involved in the sport, setting them up for success in life beyond the game.
QLD Rugby League partnership
Westpac is stoked to announce a huge three-year partnership with the QRL that will see Westpac become front of jersey sponsor for the Queensland Maroons Men and shoulder sponsor for the Harvey Norman Queensland Maroons women.
The partnership will support all levels of the game in Queensland, from grassroots clubs across the state, future pathways for talented young female athletes through the Future Women’s Maroons Academy, and elite level through the State of Origin series.

NSW Rugby League partnership
Westpac and the NSW Rugby League are also pleased to announce a partnership that will see Westpac take over the naming rights of the NSW Blues and feature on the front of the iconic Blues jersey in a deal that will celebrate diversity and inclusion in sport.
The partnership also provides equal financial support for programs promoting the men’s and women’s game, meaning Westpac will play a key role in supporting female participation pathways and other NSW Rugby League initiatives such as the inaugural Westpac Junior Sky Blues Academy for teenage girls aspiring to play NRLW.
