John debuted for the Wallabies in 1991 and captained them from 1996 until the end of his test career in 2001. He participated in two successful World Cup campaigns, captaining the latter in 1999, and captained the Wallabies to three Bledisloe Cup, two Tri-Nations and their first ever series victory over the British and Irish Lions. John is on the board of Flight Centre Travel Group, Magellan Financial Group, Fuji Xerox – DMS, and Palladium Group. He is a columnist with The Australian newspaper, a lecturer at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney and was a founder of the Mettle Group, a leadership and organization culture consultancy. He has also authored two books, Learning from Legends Sport and Learning from Legends Business.
