Stop Cheque Payments

From time to time you may need to place a stop payment on a cheque (or range of cheques). Cheques can be stopped using Corporate Online, allowing you to manage the stop without the need to send/fax a request through to Westpac.

Please make sure the cheque has not been presented (by checking your bank statements) when you request Westpac to place a stop on it.

To make a stop payment on a cheque:

  • Sign into Corporate Online
  • From the Accounts menu select Stop Cheques
  • Click Create
  • Ensure the correct account is showing in the drop down box near the top of the screen
  • Enter the details of the cheque you wish to stop, then click Continue
  • If you are also an authoriser, click Authorise now.

Note: The stop cheque request must be fully authorised in Corporate Online before the Bank will accept your instructions. Please contact the Corporate Online Support Help Desk on 1300 134 291 if you need assistance, or refer to the relevant user guides available from the Corporate Online menu, on authorising a stop cheque request.
