What network type should I connect to?
Pick the most suitable network option based on your business requirements when connecting your EFTPOS Flex with Presto terminal.
Benefits
- Dependable: Ethernet uses cables, so it could work slightly faster than a wireless connection. It doesn’t rely on a Wi-Fi signal - making it a more stable connection.
- Back-up: if your network drops out, Electronic Fall Back* Mode is available so you can continue to take payments.
Tips
- Spare ports: make sure that you have a spare Ethernet port on your router for the terminal to plug in to.
- Location of terminal: the cable that comes with your terminal (and plugs in to the base unit from the router) is 1.8 metres long. If the distance between your router and where you intend to place the terminal base is longer than 1.8m, you will need to organise a longer Ethernet cable.
- Spare power socket: You'll need a spare power socket for the terminal to be plugged in to within 1.8m of where you intend the terminal to be. If the distance between your power socket and where you intend to place the terminal is longer than 1.8m, you'll need to organise an extension cord.
