Effective 30 March 2026, Westpac Verify with Confirmation of Payee is available in Corporate Online when making a payment to a beneficiary with an account in Australia.
What is changing?
Westpac Verify with Confirmation of Payee provides an additional layer of protection by checking whether the account name entered matches the details held by the beneficiary’s bank and by comparing details with previous Westpac payment data.
This helps reduce the risk of misdirected payments and scams, such as Payment Redirection or Business Email Compromise.
What does this mean for you?
This enhancement allows your organisation to make informed payment decisions by adding an extra check when making a new beneficiary payment or when creating and updating the account details of an existing beneficiary to make an Osko (bank account), RTGS, Overnight or Westpac to Westpac payment.
Payment authorisers will also be able to view the match response when approving payments and this will also be retained within the payment history audit report.
Please contact your Westpac representative if you require further details.
