Westpac partners with Royal Flying Doctor Service to support remote communities in South Australia and the Northern Territory
24 March 2026
Westpac has announced a new community partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT (RFDS), supporting the delivery of critical healthcare services to remote and regional communities across South Australia and the Northern Territory.
The partnership brings together two organisations with long and proud histories of serving Australians beyond the big cities.
For generations, the RFDS has been a lifeline for people living and working in some of the most isolated parts of the country, delivering healthcare where it’s needed most. Westpac has supported regional Australia for 208 years, backing local businesses, farmers and families and helping communities thrive through changing times.
Westpac Chief Executive, Business & Wealth, Paul Fowler, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to regional Australia.
“The RFDS is one of the most trusted and respected organisations in the country, particularly in regional and remote Australia,” Mr Fowler said.
“Both our organisations were built to serve regional communities, and that shared purpose makes this partnership especially meaningful.”
Through the partnership, Westpac will become the exclusive banking partner of the RFDS in South Australia and the Northern Territory, including workplace banking benefits for its employees. Local Westpac teams will also support the Service’s fundraising events and initiatives, including being a Giving Day dollar-match partner, helping to raise vital funds for the services communities rely on.
RFDS SA/NT Chair, Peter de Cure AM, said the partnership recognises the importance of long‑term support for regional, rural and remote healthcare.
“The RFDS was founded on the belief that where you live shouldn’t determine the quality of healthcare you receive,” Mr de Cure said.
“Partnering with Westpac, an organisation that understands the challenges and opportunities of regional Australia, helps us continue delivering on that mission.”
The partnership builds on the bank’s support of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service and Westpac’s longstanding focus on regional Australia.
