How can I cancel a direct debit?

If you ask us to cancel a direct debit from your eligible Westpac account, we will process your request. ​

Call us​

If you would like to speak to someone over the phone to cancel your direct debit, call us on 132 032, 8am-8pm Sydney time, 7 days.

Visit your local branch ​

You can also visit your local branch to cancel a direct debit. You’ll need to fill out a Direct debit cancellation request form (PDF 76KB) and submit it to us when you’re in branch, and we will process the request on your behalf. ​

Important information to know when cancelling a direct debit payment

Cancelling your direct debit does not cancel your contract with the merchant or service provider. If you still owe the merchant or service provider for their service or utility, you will need to make alternate payment arrangements with them.​
