Westpac announces support for customers impacted by flooding in NSW

Westpac is providing assistance for customers affected by flooding in the New South Wales Mid North Coast and Hunter region.
“We are thinking of all our people, customers and communities impacted by the severe weather event in New South Wales,” said Carolyn McCann, acting Chief Executive, Consumer, Westpac.
“While this is an evolving situation and the immediate focus should be on the emergency response, we want our customers to know we are here to support them if they need additional assistance during this time.
“Westpac has a dedicated team of specialists standing by, ready to provide a range of support measures for customers and businesses.
“To ensure the safety of our local teams, some branches may be closed over this period. We remain available to support our customers over the phone and online if they need a helping hand,” Ms McCann said.
Support for affected Consumer customers:
- Home loan customers may apply to defer or reduce repayments for a period of time
- Credit card and personal loans customers may apply to defer or reduce repayments for a period of time
- Term deposit customers experiencing hardship may apply to waive the minimum notice period to access funds prior to maturity
Support for affected Business customers:
- Cashflow support via temporary overdraft can be available to assist small businesses up to maximum of $15,000 and larger businesses up to a maximum of $50,000 depending on size and needs of the business*
- Business loan customers may apply to defer repayments
- Business customers with merchant facilities may be eligible to receive assistance, including monthly terminal fee refunds

- St.George consumer customers can apply online at http://www.stgeorge.com.au/disasterrelief, or call St.George Assist on 1800 629 795. Business customers who need support can contact their Relationship Manager or call St.George Assist on 1800 629 795.
- Westpac’s Indigenous Call Centre Team is also available on 1800 230 144 from Monday to Friday 9am – 6:30pm CST.
