The important information

12-month program dedicated to a specific technology capability

You'll spend 12 months in a team, building a well-rounded understanding of how that technology function works. You'll be surrounded by leaders who are invested in your development and focused on providing tailored experiences to match your determination and drive to explore their area of expertise. This program has been designed for you to get straight into a defined role and team for an extended period, but still not lose the perks of a grad program, including the connection to a larger cohort and direct access to our leadership team.

Locations

Sydney, NSW and Broadbeach, QLD (only for Engineering stream)

Who we want

Choose our Specialist Technology Programs if you’re clear on your future role in technology. You will need a STEM degree and background. Then, we will provide you with a technical, capability-focused program to build specific skills through hands-on experience in a specific function of tech at Westpac. We’re looking to fill our programs with original thinkers and innovators. We embrace diversity, recognising the value people bring to us with their individual differences, qualities, ideas and insights. At Westpac you’ll be part of a group that is committed to building a sustainable future and encourages inclusion, diversity, and community involvement.

Who should apply for this program?

Have you ever thought about the jobs and work of the future? Are you ready to master cutting-edge technology skills with rapidly growing demands and partnering with a world leading Robotics & Intelligent Automation team? If yes, then this is the graduate program for you, and you should apply to explore it further.

What's this program about?

Robotics & Intelligent Automation is a strategic priority for Westpac. At the very core of Robotics & Intelligent Automation we build, maintain, and improve automations in the bank that have material impacts to customer satisfaction. As technology continues to disrupt, we harness these new technologies and combine them into intelligent automations. This allows us to deliver efficiencies by ‘removing the robot out of the human’ and letting our people add value where it really matters. As a result, Robotics & Intelligent Automation offers you rotations across all functions in the Robotics & Automation Services (RAS) team. You’ll experience all that robotics has to offer.

How does it work?

You will join the RAS team for a 12-month program focused on building your automation skills. Through a carefully designed graduate academy, you’ll rotate through our core functions of design, develop and run across our full stack of intelligent automation technologies. As a RAS grad, you’ll be surrounded by buddies, teams, managers, and senior leadership who are invested in your development. Join the growing number of graduates who have successfully completed the RAS program and are now permanent members of the team. We have a large cohort of peers to share the experience with and regular social opportunities to get involved and network with the wider team.

Apply for the Robotics & Automation Specialist program if you want to

  • be exposed to Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / and various cognitive services;
  • receive globally recognised robotic accreditations; accelerate your learning and development in a rapidly growing, yet still niche industry;
  • develop automations that make material impacts to customer satisfaction;
  • join an award winning, internationally recognised team.
Future career opportunities:

  • Robotics & Intelligent Automation Developer
  • Robotics & Intelligent Automation Manager
  • Robotics & Intelligent Automation Delivery Manager

What our graduates have to say

“A twelve-month placement in a team really lets you dive in and explore what the team has to offer. After my initial six months in the team, I went on to solely design a suite of automations, establish a training academy, and receive globally recognised accreditations. I wouldn’t have been able to achieve these milestones in a regular Grad program.

My assumption was that since Graduates don’t have as much experience, we might be given smaller pieces of work and might play a supportive role on projects. The reality is that you will be given pieces of work to own end to end which is incredibly empowering and rewarding. Furthermore, a graduates’ unique perspective provides a freshness and diversity of thought which is highly valued.”

Since rolling off the program…

“I’m a robotics developer within Digital Operations, Group Operations which means I’ll work with the business units to gather requirements and develop automations that will provide operational relief and faster turnaround times for customers.

Each day I’m challenged with technical problems to solve with my code. There are many ways that you can solve them but finding the most optimal solution is an enjoyable and experimental process to reach the desired outcome.”
