What we do for our customers

CIB sits within Westpac’s Institutional Bank and focuses on understanding the needs of our institutional and government clients to support them through their lifecycle, whether that be to provide financing and solutions for growth opportunities, navigating times of change, or simply to support their financial wellbeing and day-to-day needs.

We also aim to collaborate and partner with our clients to help solve global challenges, including respecting human rights and supporting the transition to a climate resilient future by structuring loans so they are linked to achieving environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) outcomes.

CIB provides industry specific expertise across general corporates, energy, infrastructure, resources, financial institutions, health, government and real estate.

What our graduates have to say

“I studied a Bachelor or Commerce (liberal studies) majoring in Finance and Psychology at Sydney University. In my spare time I love to dance, exercise and spend time with my friends trying new restaurants.

I have a background in Psychology which has helped me understand and manage relationships in both a professional and personal setting.

I was attracted to the level of support, training and exposure I would receive in a large institution like Westpac.

I chose CIB because I wanted to make a profound impact through helping large corporates and institutions achieve complex financing needs.”

Since rolling off the program…

“I am now part of the Acquisition Finance, Debt Products within the Corporate & Institutional Bank.

I am involved in all stages of the transaction process from customer relationship management and correspondence to credit analysis and documentation. Each rotation helped me with developing the skills required at a particular stage which enabled me to enter into a multi-faceted role.

The CIB Graduate program provided a diverse, supportive and enriching learning experience that allowed me to confidently enter into my first full-time role.”
