What we do for our customers

CIB sits within Westpac’s Institutional Bank and focuses on understanding the needs of our institutional and government clients to support them through their lifecycle, whether that be to provide financing and solutions for growth opportunities, navigating times of change, or simply to support their financial wellbeing and day-to-day needs.

We also aim to collaborate and partner with our clients to help solve global challenges, including respecting human rights and supporting the transition to a climate resilient future by structuring loans so they are linked to achieving environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) outcomes.

CIB provides industry specific expertise across general corporates, energy, infrastructure, resources, financial institutions, health, government and real estate.

What our graduates have to say

“Joining the graduate program in CIB has given me the opportunity to navigate diverse rotations, including Real Estate, Project Finance, and Financial Crime. The exposure to these diverse sectors has helped me build out a well-rounded skillset covering credit analysis, financial modelling, documentation, and customer engagement. Before joining the program, I studied a Bachelor of Commerce/Information Systems, majoring in Finance. Outside of work I enjoy playing basketball and golf as well as travelling the world.

The program stood out to me for its dynamic rotation structure, coupled with invaluable development opportunities and mentorship across all levels.”

Since rolling off the program…

“I am now an associate in the Real Estate team within the Corporate & Institutional Bank. Within the Real Estate team, I manage my own portfolio of clients and participate in the origination of new-to-bank transactions, crafting bespoke financing solutions for ASX listed companies. The program's structure and continuous support from managers, mentors, and colleagues have facilitated my ability to make meaningful contributions to the team from day 1.”
