Stop payments

From time to time you may need to place a stop payment on a cheque for a lost or stolen cheque book (range stops) or all other cheques (where you have signed but decided to stop). Cheques can be stopped using Corporate Online.

Please make sure the cheque has not been presented when you request Westpac to place a stop on it.

To make a stop payment on a cheque:

  • Sign into Corporate Online
  • From the Accounts menu select Stop Cheques
  • Click Create
  • Ensure the correct account is showing in the drop down box near the top of the screen
  • Enter the details of the cheque you wish to stop, then click Continue
  • If you are also an authoriser, click Authorise now.

Note: The stop cheque request must be fully authorised before the Bank will accept it for processing. Please contact the Corporate Online Support Help Desk on 1300 134 291 if you need assistance.

Where access to Corporate Online is not available:

Print off and complete the Stop payment request (PDF 13KB)

Please return the completed request by emailing stopcheques@westpac.com.au or faxing Account Maintenance on 1300 656 954.
