Why am I asked to complete verification when I add my card to Apple Pay?

We take your security and the security of your accounts very seriously.  When adding you card to Apple Pay via the Apple Wallet and you select the ‘From Apps on Your iPhone’ option we will ask you to sign-in to the mobile banking sign-in page using your normal process. We will also send you a SMS Protect Code to your registered mobile number and ask you to enter this.  This will verify you are the owner of the cards being added to Apple Pay.
