Frequently asked questions

Westpac will not cancel your other Card Account(s). If your aim is to pay down your balances and reduce the number of credit cards you hold, it may be helpful to cancel your old card account(s) once the balance transfer is complete so you don’t use them and accrue more debt. You can cancel a credit card online or over the phone (although you are still liable to pay off any balance).

The points earn rates shown here apply to the Altitude Mastercard® Rewards program earning Altitude Rewards. Other programs have their own points earn rates.

A full rundown of partners that you can earn points with as well as use them is available at altituderewards.com.au

It’s our way of helping you earn extra Altitude Rewards points when you shop with select airlines and retail partners with your Westpac Altitude Rewards Platinum or Black Mastercard.

Our aim is to offer more points from merchants that are most relevant to our cardholders – including you. With that in mind, it is possible we’ll update them from time-to-time.

There are no limits or caps on the total number of points you can earn each month.

Having said that, there is a limit of $10,000 that you can spend each calendar month to get more points with our airline partners.

Platinum airline partners include Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia. If you do go past the $10,000 monthly limit for more points, you’ll still earn 1 point for each additional $1 spent on flights till the end of that month.

Black airline partners include Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Singapore Airlines and Emirates. If you do go past the $10,000 monthly limit for more points, you’ll still earn 1.25 points for each additional $1 spent on flights till the end of that month.

Spotify Premium (monthly Spotify subscriptions) purchases made at Spotify’s Australian website, are eligible for more points. Ticket purchases or merchandise purchased through Spotify are not eligible for more points.
