SecurID® tokens

A SecurID® token is a small, portable device that generates a digital security code that you use with your token password to securely authorise online payments above your daily limit.

Your daily limit is the amount that you can transfer without using a token and is determined by you. For example, if you set your daily limit to be $0 then it is mandatory to authorise all transactions with a SecurID® token.

How do I apply for a SecurID® token or change my daily limit?

There are two ways:

Read our guide Requesting a token for a user (PDF 294KB)

Once I have my token, how do I activate it?

How much does it cost?

  • First 3 tokens - free
  • Additional tokens - $5.50 per month
  • Replacing lost or stolen tokens - $25.00 each

Using your token

Each time you make a payment in excess of your daily payment limit, you will be prompted to enter your token password and the digital code to authorise your payment. This prompt appears on the existing payment confirmation page for online banking.

Security tips for using your token

  • Never reveal your token password to anyone
  • Keep your token secure – it fits easily into a key ring or neck chain
  • If you lose your token, contact us immediately to cancel it or stop it being used
  • Treat your token with care – don’t expose it to extreme temperatures.

Security tips for banking online

We are continually upgrading security and looking for more ways to protect your Business Online service. In the meantime, the measures listed below can help you protect your financial information.

  • Use and regularly update firewall and antivirus protection on your computer
  • Undergo a free security check at our website to see if your computer is exposed to virus threats
  • Check your statements for any transactions that look suspicious
  • Never click on a link to Westpac’s Business Online via an email; always type in www.westpac.com.au/business
  • Never send your personal details, including your customer number or password, in response to an email, even if it looks like it came from Westpac.

Don't need your token anymore?

  • If you wish to cancel token access for yourself or another user, you can either sign in to Business Online and complete the request via Online Self Serve Administration (if you are an administrator) or complete the General Administration form.
