Advanced trading tools

Westpac Share Trading offers investors a suite of advanced trading tools.

Charting

Quickly and easily keep track of share prices with advanced charting. Analyse prices over periods ranging from one day to 10 years. Overlaying indicators, such as splits and dividends, can help you to better evaluate how and when to trade.

Key features

  • Chart the price and volume of market-listed securities, indices and sectors.
  • Easily compare a security’s performance against another security, its sector in Australia, a commodity, foreign exchange rates, and Australian and international indexes.
  • View the effect of news, announcements and events on security pricing, through chart overlays.
  • Follow trendlines.
  • Use our customisable interface to personalise your charting.

Trading alerts

Capture potential trading opportunities with free, unlimited customised alerts that help keep you informed, wherever you are. Choose to receive alerts to your personal email address or by push notification to your smartphone via the Westpac Share Trading app.

Key features

Receive free, unlimited alerts for:

  • Share prices
  • Trading volumes
  • Market announcements
  • Shares that go ex-dividend.

Conditional orders

Using conditional orders means you may not have to constantly monitor the market. You simply set the criteria for your trade, and our systems will place your order when your conditions are met.

Conditional orders have two components: an order to buy or sell a stock, and a trigger that specifies the market conditions that must be met before the order is placed.

Key features

  • Make trades based on your predetermined investment strategy.
  • Choose from six different order types, including falling sell (stop loss) and trailing stop orders.
  • Orders remain active for 12 months.
  • Easily cancel or amend your order.
  • Receive an SMS or email notification when your order is received, triggered, expired or executed.
