Car Loan application checklist

Your security details

An official, current registration certificate, issued by your State Motor Registry.  This certificate needs to be in the name of the person(s) applying for the loan.

This certificate needs to include:

  • The applicant’s name
  • Year, make, model and body of the vehicle
  • VIN or chassis number
  • Engine number
  • Registration plate number and expiry date

We cannot accept:

  • Registration renewal notice
  • Application for registration
  • Hand-written documents
  • Application for registration transfer

If purchasing through a dealer or at an auction;

you will need to provide a dealer invoice or contract of sale stating:

  • Dealership’s ABN and name
  • Applicant’s name.  If a joint loan application, then both applicants’ names must be shown
  • Applicant’s address, as listed on the loan application
  • Year, make, model and body of the vehicle
  • VIN/chassis number
  • Engine number
  • Registration plate number and expiry date

Note: If you are not able to supply a dealer invoice or contract of sale, you can download the Motor Vehicle Details form (PDF 106KB) to complete and fax to us on 1300 762 338.

If purchasing privately;

you will need:

An official Registration Certificate will need to be supplied (this is the document issued by your State Motor Registry e.g. RTA, VicRoads)

This certificate must be current (cannot be expired) and include:

  • The seller’s name
  • Year, make, model and body of the vehicle
  • VIN or chassis number
  • Engine number
  • Registration plate number and expiry date

We cannot accept:

  • Registration Renewal Notice
  • Application for registration
  • Hand-written documents
  • Application for registration transfer
