How much can I borrow against my asset?

When applying for a business loan, you need to offer an asset, usually in the form of property. This not only secures the business loan, with the available equity helping to determine how much you can borrow.

Generally, we'll lend you up to:

  • 80% of a residential property value
  • 65% of a commercial property value
  • 70% of a rural property value

In most cases, if we need to sell the asset to cover your business loan, residential homes can be sold much faster and easier than commercial and rural properties. That's why we typically don't lend as much against commercial and rural properties.
