WorkVentures is Australia's oldest not-for-profit social enterprise that helps unemployed youth get a career start in technology.

WorkVentures refurbishes, sells and supports low-cost computers and as a non-profit, all surpluses from the businesses are used to help young trainees gain IT skills and experience to launch their careers in technology.

WorkVentures also operates a technology repair workshop - the Sydney Itec Repair Centre - that repairs commercial electronics such as telephone exchanges, point-of-sale systems and medical equipment.

Westpac Group is a foundation partner and has donated more than 40,000 superseded personal computers and monitors to WorkVentures.

This partnership has provided Westpac Group with:

  • a national solution to its PC disposal problem and associated cost savings
  • a socially and environmentally responsible way to dispose of superseded IT equipment.

We are proud to be involved with this innovative program that not only solves a financial obligation of our business, but provides worthwhile access to technology for those who might not otherwise have it.
