Westpac opens 24/7 ‘Bank Now’ branch at Toowoomba

Westpac Toowoomba has celebrated its official launch last night after benefitting from a major refurbishment. The 24/7 self-service Bank Now branch is part of Westpac's hi-tech investment in its regional and rural branch network.

The new-look branch combines an open-plan layout with a mix of self-service banking options, together with tailored advice and support from expert banking staff.

Joseph Hannant, Bank Manager at Westpac Toowoomba said the new branch and facilities are a response to the change in the way customers are doing their banking.

"The Toowoomba Bank Now branch has new and improved technical capabilities, which benefit both customers and staff. Members of the local community will have access to the new Smart ATMs, Cash Exchange and Coin Deposit machines which will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing customers, particularly small businesses customers, to deposit cash, cheques and coins, withdraw notes and exchange notes and coins at any time of the day or night," said Joseph Hannant.

"Whether customers are upgrading to a new home, setting up a small business or planning for retirement, they are emotionally involved in the decision process and want to have direct face-to-face conversations with our branch specialists. We have designed the Westpac Toowoomba Bank Now branch to help facilitate those conversations with our friendly bankers. These include home finance managers and local business bankers who can offer our customers expert advice to meet their banking needs."

To further support business and personal customers in the local area, the Toowoomba branch will offer customers access to Connect Now, a video conferencing service that allows customers to speak with Westpac specialists across the country about a range of topics, from equipment finance to foreign exchange.

In addition to the revamped branch, one of Australia's leading fashion designers, Carla Zampatti, is designing a new look wardrobe for the staff. The Westpac Collection will be trialled by over 200 staff over the next few months and will formally launch in October 2016, ahead of Westpac's 200 year anniversary.

"It is important to invest in the future of Toowoomba. The new Westpac Toowoomba Bank Now branch will give local customers in the community access to the highest quality branch network, service and advice at a time which suits them," added Joseph Hannant.
