Westpac Institutional Bank appoints highly respected banker, Richard Green as Head of Queensland

Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) today announced the appointment of Richard Green as Head of Queensland, Westpac Institutional Bank.

Mr Green joins WIB and builds on a distinguished career in banking and financial services, most recently as Managing Director Corporate Coverage at BNP Paribas. With a career spanning 25 years, Mr Green has held senior leadership positions at BNP Paribas, Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) and ABN AMRO.

Prior to BNP Paribas, Mr Green was responsible for building extensive exposure to the Queensland market as Executive General Manager - Head of  Client Relationship Management (including Transaction Banking) Australia & NZ, for CBA's Institutional Banking and Markets business.

Joining the CIB Executive Team, Mr Green will report to Mark John, Managing Director, Property & Corporate Banking and manage the ongoing delivery of the Institutional Bank's customer engagement strategies to significantly grow its presence in Queensland.

At BNP Paribas, Mr Green was instrumental in many key transactions with global customers. High profile transactions included a billion dollar bridge underwriting for Westfield Group's restructure, acting as JLA for Scentre Group's subsequent AUD3bln (equivalent) Eurobond takeout and a Eur1.25bln underwriting for Ramsay Healthcare's acquisition of Generale de Sante in France.
