Westpac Institutional Bank Appoints Andrew McDonald as General Manager, Corporate & Institutional Banking

Westpac Institutional Bank has today announced the appointment of Andrew McDonald as General Manger of Corporate and Institutional Banking.

Andrew will join Chief Executive, Rob Whitfield’s leadership team and will be responsible for the ongoing delivery of the institutional bank’s customer engagement strategies, playing a critical role in supporting the business’ plans for growth.

Andrew has held senior positions within Westpac Institutional Bank since 1997. He possesses a deep understanding of customer needs as well as a proven ability to advise and develop customers’ growth strategies through their partnership with the Bank.

Over his 16 years, Andrew has gained a broad understanding of our business having held executive positions within our Large Corporates, Debt Capital Markets and Financial Markets businesses,” he said.

Andrew replaces Jeff Mitchell who recently accepted the position of Group General Manager, Strategy and Implementation. Starting his banking career with Westpac in 1986, Andrew went on to hold a number of key treasury, corporate finance and strategic customer facing positions with Sumitomo Australia and Standard Chartered Bank, before returning to Westpac Institutional Bank in 1997.
