Westpac on track to process all outstanding payments by end of day

26 July 2011

Westpac has now completed processing of the vast majority of delayed payments from last night, including payments to customers of other banks and is now focusing its efforts on clearing the backlog of payments. Westpac expects all outstanding payments from today to be credited to customer accounts by this evening.

Other Westpac banking channels such as ATM, POS, online banking, telephone banking and branch banking have been operating as normal throughout the day.

Westpac encourages customers who remain affected, including those still awaiting Centrelink payments, to contact the bank either through their nearest branch or by phoning 132 032 to enquire about the availability of temporary overdrafts or temporary increases to credit card limits.

Westpac sincerely apologises to customers for this disruption and wants to assure all customers they will not incur any additional fees as a result of today’s delay.
