Where I’m supported to help back my customers through good times and bad

Meet Sara, a Westpac Agribusiness Banking Manager in Longreach QLD who's role is more than a Banker, it's about being part of the community.

Hi, I'm Sara,

I'm 'Sara Scott from Westpac'. That's what I'm known as here in rural Australia in my role as Westpac's Agribusiness Banking Manager, Longreach, Queensland.

You see, working in a rural area means you're part of a community where everyone knows everyone. There is no separation or anonymity between work and personal life.  I represent Westpac at all times. To do this job you have to back the business and be passionate about the organisation's values. I live and breathe them!

After eight years helping customers in Victoria, I packed my bag to move 2,000 kilometres north to take this opportunity in Longreach. On a day to day basis, I'm getting out and about in my Westpac Agribusiness uniform with full commitment to my customers, their farms, their families and the entire community. Just like in Westpac, my local community works as one team.

My region is experiencing one of the longest droughts on record and we're entering our fourth summer without enough rain to break the drought. Our farmers have unique needs and the Commercial Banking leadership team and my peers are by my side to ensure the right outcomes for the customer.

Westpac Group is also by my side in my own development. I've had a great career with Westpac since it began in 2008, when I joined as a graduate in Agribusiness. I've had opportunities to work in a number of roles, including credit and sales positions in Commercial Banking and Agribusiness, and a secondment in Westpac Institutional Bank as an Associate Director, Large Corporates. I feel the opportunities at Westpac Group are endless.

I am proud to be 'Sara Scott from Westpac', where my company backs my career aspirations and helps me back our rural customers through the good times and the bad.
