Mobile Banking security tips

To enhance your mobile security you should:

  • Activate security settings on your phone, if applicable
  • Download anti-virus software to protect from internet threats 
  • Download anti-theft apps that allow you to remotely wipe, lock and locate your phone
  • Protect your data by using a PIN or password to lock your phone
  • Treat your mobile like you would a credit card; don't leave it lying around or lend it to others
  • When using a shared network, make sure it's reputable and password protected
  • Turn off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when you're not using them
  • Back up your phone data to your computer and encrypt your data if possible
  • Sign out after you've finished using Mobile Banking.

Mobile Banking's secure environment

When you sign in to Mobile Banking, you're entering a secure environment. This means any information you enter is protected by encryption.

If you're inactive for more than 7 minutes your access stops and you need to re-enter your password to return to Mobile Banking. To leave the secure environment, you must click the red Sign Out button.
