Online verification checklist

To finalise your application we may require you to provide copies of the following documentation for verification of the documents outlined below*:

1. Income verification

Based on the employment and income details you provide in your application, you'll be required to send copies of the following documentation to verify your Australian taxable income:

 

If: Send this documentation:

Full time or part-time employment

If you are employed on a permanent full time or permanent part time basis, and your income is PAYG, please provide:

  • Your two most recent consecutive computer generated payslips. These must state:
    • Your name as provided on the application
    • Employer name or ABN as provided on the application
    • Payment period
    • Income must be listed as either ‘Net’ or ‘Gross’
  • If you’re paid on a weekly basis, please ensure your payslips are not more than one month old.
  • If you’re paid on a fortnightly basis, please ensure your payslips are not more than two months old.
  • If you’re paid on a monthly basis, please ensure your payslips are not more than three months old.


OR
 

  • A signed Letter of Employment issued within the last two months, with the following details:
    • Must be on Employer or Company Letterhead
    • Must state your name as provided on the application form
    • Must state your Annual Gross/Net Salary
    • Must state your employment status as Full time or Part time
    • Must state your time at current employment

Note: Handwritten documentation will not be accepted


AND
 

  • Your most recent bank statement(s), issued within the last three months, confirming a minimum of two regular income deposits labelled with:
    • Your name as provided on the application
    • Employer name as provided on the application
    • Income deposit must be listed as either salary or wages


Note: Internet banking transfers will not be accepted.

Casual employment

If you are employed on a casual or seasonal basis and your income is PAYG, please provide:

  • Your two most recent consecutive computer generated payslips. These must state:
    • Your name as provided on the application
    • Employer name or ABN as provided on the application
    • Payment period
    • Number of hours worked and the hourly pay rate (or status of employment)
    • Year to Date (YTD) earnings
    • Income must be listed as either ‘Net’ or ‘Gross’


Note: If your payslips do not display YTD earnings you will be required to submit:

  • Your four most recent consecutive computer generated payslips. These must state:
    • Your name as provided on the application
    • Employer name or ABN as provided on the application
    • Payment period
    • Income must be listed as either 'Net' or 'Gross'
  • If you’re paid on a weekly basis, please ensure your payslips are not more than one month old.
  • If you’re paid on a fortnightly basis, please ensure your payslips are not more than two months old.
  • If you’re paid on a monthly basis, please ensure your payslips are not more than three months old.


OR

  • Your two most recent bank statements, issued within the last three months, showing a minimum of three recent and regular income deposits labelled with:
    • Your name as provided on the application
    • Employer name as provided on the application
    • Income deposit must be listed as salary or wages

Self Employed

If you are self-employed, please provide:

  • Your most recent Notice of Assessment (must be issued within the last Financial Year). Please black out your Tax File Number


AND
 

  • Your two most recent business bank statements


Note Tax Estimates and Returns will not be accepted.

Government Pension

If you receive a Government Pension please provide:

  • Your most recent Centrelink Statement, issued within the last three months, confirming a minimum of two recently received payments


AND / OR
 

  • Your most recent Veterans’ Affair Statement, issued within the last three months, confirming a minimum of two recently received payments

Self-Funded Retiree

If you are a self-funded retiree please provide:

  • Your most recent Super fund or Trust letter outlining your income as stated in your application


AND
 

  • A recent bank statement(s) confirming a minimum of two income deposits


OR
 

  • Your most recent Notice of Assessment (issued within the last Financial Year). Please black out your Tax File Number

Self-Managed Super Funds

If you are a self-funded retiree with a Self-Managed Super Fund please provide:

A letter from your accountant.

Note: The letter must be on business letterhead and confirm that the Accountant is certified and registered with an ABN.

The letter must include:

  • Name of Super Fund
  • Names of Super Fund trustees
  • Balance of Super FundConfirmation of latest annual income
  • A copy of the Trust Deed

Spousal / Maintenance Income

If you receive spousal / maintenance income (i.e. child support) please provide:

  • A copy of court documentation confirming the amount of ongoing spousal payments


AND
 

  • Your two most recent bank statements confirming regularly received payments
     

Investments

If you receive an income from investments, please provide:

  • Your two most recent bank statements outlining two recently received deposits


OR
 

  • Your current Investment Certificate


OR
 

  • Dividend Advice, issued within the past 12 months

Rental income through a real estate agent

If you receive rental income through a real estate agent

  • Your most recent real estate agent’s statement confirming two most recent payments


OR

  • Recent bank statements confirming:
    • Two recent rental income deposits
    • Must be labelled with your Real Estate agent’s name


OR
 

  • Your most recent Notice of Assessment (issued within the last Financial Year)


AND

  • Income tax return confirming rental income. Please black out your Tax File Number.  

Rental income from a private agreement

If you receive rental income from a private agreement, please provide

  • Your most recent Notice of Assessment (issued within the last Financial Year) 


AND

  • Income tax return confirming rental income. Please black out your Tax File Number.

Note: These documents must be issued for the same Financial Year.

Overseas Pension

If you receive an Overseas Pension

  • Your Centrelink statement showing your overseas pension is declared to Centrelink


AND
 

  • A recent bank statement confirming two most recent deposits into your Australian bank account.

2. Identity verification

Please visit your local Westpac branch as soon as possible and provide:

ONE item of identification from EACH of the categories listed below OR TWO items of identification from Table A - Primary identification document category.  

 

Table A - Primary Identification document Table B - Secondary identification document
  • Birth certificate Australian (must be a full birth certificate)
  • Birth certificate Foreign (issued by a foreign government, the united nations or an agency of the united nations, must be a full birth certificate)
  • NSW Birth card
  • Australian citizenship certificate
  • Foreign citizenship certificate (must be issued by a foreign government)
  • Australian driver’s license
  • Australian learner’s license
  • Current Australian passport (can either be current of expired within the last 2 years. Must not be cancelled, defaced or mutilated)
  • Foreign passport (can either be current or expired within the last 2 years. Must not be cancelled, defaced or mutilated)
  • Foreign travel documents (issued by a foreign government, the United Nations, or agency of the United Nations)
  • Australian boat license
  • Australian taxi license
  • Centrelink pension card
  • Department of Veterans pension card
  • Keypass Photo ID card
  • 18+ proof of age card
  • National identify card (issued by a foreign government, the United Nations or an agency of the United Nations)
  • NSW RMS photo card or proof of age card
  • Foreign driver’s license
  • Security guard’s license
  • Shooter’s/firearms license
  • Blind Citizens Australia ID card
  • Australian Public Service employee ID card
  • Australian higher education (TAFE or University) student card
  • Working with children check card (Blue card) QLD, VIC, WA
  • Australian Taxation Office (ATO) notice issued within the last 12 months which shows your name and residential address
  • Financial benefits notice issued by Commonwealth, State or Territory government issued within the last 12 months which shows your name residential address (e.g. notice from Centrelink)
  • Financial institution passbook (Australian which must be current and have a black light signature)
  • Utilities notice issued by a local government or utilities provider within the last 3 months which shows your name and residential address
  • Centrelink health care card
  • Australian Marriage certificate
  • Medicare card
  • Commonwealth seniors health card or state seniors card

3. Additional identity verification

Please provide:

  • A copy of your Medicare card
    • Card must be current, and not expired.

4. Employment verification

Based on the employment details provided in the application, you'll be required to send the following documentation for verification*:

5. Residential address verification

Please provide the following documentation for verification*:

ONE item of identification from Table A listed below AND ONE item of identification from Table B listed below.
 

Table A - Primary document Table B - Secondary document
  • Australian Driver’s Licence
    • Must be current and not expired
    • Must show your current residential address as provided on your application
    • Front and back copies lightened and enlarged 200%
  • Proof of Age Card
    • Must be current and not expired
    • Must show your current residential address as provided on your application
    • Front and back copies lightened and enlarged 200%
  • A current utility bill, issued within the last three months, by a Local Government OR utilities provider  
    • Must show your name as provided on the application
    • Must show your residential address as provided on the application 
    • PO Box addresses will not be accepted

  • A current mobile phone bill, issued within the last three months
    • Must show your name as provided on the application
    • Must show your residential address as provided on the application 
    • PO Box addresses will not be accepted

  • A current bank statement, issued within the last three months
    • Must show your name as provided on the application
    • Must show your residential address as provided on the application
    • PO Box addresses will not be accepted

 

 

6. Passport and eligible Visa details

Please send the following documentation for verification*:

  • The photo page of your current passport
  • Your current Australian visa


*Subject to our lending criteria, we may require further documentation to finalise your application.


Providing these documents does not guarantee the success of your application. Normal lending guidelines apply.

Please be sure to write your Application Reference Number on each document and fax to 1300 652 227 or email to plapps@westpac.com.au including your Application Reference Number in the subject line.
 

You can also take a photo of your documents with your phone or tablet and email to plapps@westpac.com.au with your Application Reference Number in the subject line.
 

Please provide this information as soon as possible as we cannot continue to process your application until these documents have been received.
