How to activate your card

In the Westpac App

Before trying these instructions make sure you update to the latest version of the app.  

  1. Search Activate card in the Smart Search bar​
  2. Enter the Card number
  3. Tap Activate
  4. Tap to change your card PIN (optional)​

In Online Banking

  1. Go to Service > Services > Card Services​
  2. Select Activate Card
  3. Enter the Card Number and expiry date and select Activate

 

Under 14? Your parents can help you activate your new debit card in Online Banking or the Westpac app. 

Tip: To activate, make sure you're signed-in using your own details, not theirs, and follow the steps above.

 

No activation is needed for Flex or PartPay Cards. Add to your Digital Wallet or use the Digital card version in the Westpac App for payments.

Activating a business debit or credit card?​

If you're a business customer, to activate your card online, you’ll need to switch from your business profile to a personal profile, and if you haven't yet, register for Online Banking.

Digital Card and dynamic CVC

It's a digital version of your card, instantly available in the Cards Hub. Use it to shop online and pay bills with the added security of a dynamic CVC that updates every 24 hours.
