American Express Airport Lounge 

The American Express Westpac Altitude Black Card gives you 2 complimentary visits each year to the American Express Airport Lounge at Sydney or Melbourne International Airports. Simply present your card and boarding pass at either lounge to gain admission.

Priority Pass Lounge 

If you choose Altitude Rewards you can register your Altitude Black Mastercard to receive 2 complimentary lounge visits per year to use at more than 1000 VIP airport lounges worldwide.

Virgin Australia Domestic Lounge

If you choose Altitude Velocity, you just need to provide us with your Velocity Frequent Flyer number and make a direct spend at Virgin Australia using your Altitude Black Mastercard each year from your card open date.3 The Virgin Australia domestic lounge passes will then be available in your Velocity Frequent Flyer account within 10 business days, ready for you to enjoy the next time you travel domestically with Virgin Australia.

Qantas Club Complimentary Invitations

If you choose Altitude Qantas, you are eligible for 2 Complimentary Invitations per year after you spend on eligible selected Qantas products and services each year using your Altitude Black Mastercard. You must first register and opt in to take advantage of this feature.

Register and opt in 

As a current American Express Westpac Altitude Card Bundle cardholder, you are eligible for complimentary Overseas Travel Insurance cover, provided:

  • You either permanently reside in Australia or hold a current and valid residency Visa and reside in Australia; and
  • You spend at least $A500 on your prepaid travel costs (i.e. your travel costs that you pay for before leaving Australia) and you charge these costs to one of your American Express Westpac Altitude Bundle cards.  This could include return travel tickets, airport or departure taxes, overseas accommodation etc.; and
  • You have a return overseas travel ticket before departing Australia; and
  • You are not over 80 years of age when you first become eligible for this cover by meeting the above conditions.

1 Cashback to your account: Statement credit redemptions are only available in $50, $100, $500 or $1,000 amounts. Cardholders will not receive a cashback voucher as the funds will be credited in the increments listed above to the total value of the cashback requested into the cardholder’s Westpac Altitude credit card account. As each customer’s circumstances may vary, we recommend you seek independent advice regarding the tax treatment, if any, resulting from your redemption. The redemption of Altitude Points is subject to the Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions (PDF 2MB) and Altitude Business Rewards Terms and Conditions (PDF 2MB).

2 Pay with points: Pay with Points allows you to redeem your Altitude Points online for statement credits to your Westpac Altitude credit card account to the value of any card purchases (excluding BPAY transactions) that you have made in the last 90 days. The statement credit will not contribute to your minimum monthly payment nor necessarily pay off the specific purchase you select. The statement credit will be applied to your card account in accordance with your card's Conditions of Use. When you redeem points for a statement credit, points will be deducted immediately from your Altitude Rewards account. You should allow up to 7 business days for the statement credit to be credited to your card account. If you do not have sufficient points for a statement credit to the value of an entire transaction, you have the option of redeeming your entire points balance for a statement credit of a lesser value, provided you have sufficient points for at least a $0.01 statement credit. As each customer’s circumstances may vary, we recommend you seek independent advice regarding the tax treatment, if any, resulting from your redemption. ® Registered to BPAY Pty Ltd ABN 69 079 137 518.

 

Altitude Rewards: You must be a member of the relevant frequent flyer program to redeem Altitude Points for frequent flyer points. The Altitude Rewards Terms and Conditions and the terms and conditions of the relevant frequent flyer program apply. A joining fee may apply. Availability of Reward flights may be limited. 3. Complimentary lounge passes disclaimers:

Priority Pass Membership: Available to primary cardholders earning Altitude Points through the Altitude Rewards program. To enrol, go to prioritypass.com/westpacblack. Lounge usage in excess of two visits per 12-month membership period and all guest visits will be charged directly to your Altitude Black card at the prevailing visit fee which is currently US$27 per person, per visit. From 1 October 2019, visit fees will increase to US$32. The first two visits within each 12-month membership period are complimentary to the primary cardholder only, after which every visit would be charged as per the prevailing rates. Any accompanying guests will be charged the prevailing visit fee, which is currently US$27 per person, per visit, which will be automatically charged on the cardholder's Altitude Black card. From 1 October 2019, guest visit fees will increase to US$32. A Westpac Foreign Transaction Fee will apply to the conversion amount. Prices are current as of June 2019. The date of visits determines which year of membership the visit is allocated to. Unused visits cannot be carried forward to the following 12-month period of membership. The number of free visits will be reset to two per each 12-month period. American Express Lounge access: Entry into The American Express Lounges is governed by the full Terms and Conditions available at amex.com.au/airportlounge. All entrants must adhere to the General Conditions of Entry. American Express Westpac Altitude Black Card members are entitled to two entries per calendar year to the American Express Lounges, located at Sydney International Airport or Melbourne International Airport. The total entitlement of two entries per calendar year applies across both Sydney and Melbourne Airport Lounges. Complimentary access is available for the Card Member’s children between the ages of 2-17. Card Member’s wishing to bring additional guests may be subject to a charge that is to be processed on the Card Member’s American Express Card. 


Westpac Altitude Black Mastercard

^Bonus Rewards Points Promotion for Westpac Altitude Cards: The respective bonus points promotion is available when you apply and are approved for a new Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black card between 15th July 2019 and 12th August 2019 and spend the minimum amount of $4,000 on eligible purchases on an Altitude Black card or $3,000 on eligible purchases on an Altitude Platinum card within 90 days from card approval in one or more transactions.

Eligible purchases do not include fees, cash, cash equivalent transactions, payments to the Australian Tax Office, BPAY, BPAY equivalent transaction, refunds and balance transfers debited from the card account. The bonus Altitude Points, Qantas Points or Velocity Points will be added to your points balance within 12 weeks once you meet the eligible spend criteria. Existing Westpac customers who currently hold an Earth Platinum, Earth Platinum Plus, Earth Black, Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black credit card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer. Qantas or Velocity Points earned during a statement cycle are added to your Qantas or Velocity Points balance on a monthly basis.

6. Rewards Points: The earning and redemption of Altitude Points, Qantas Points and Velocity Points is subject to the Altitude Terms and Conditions. Purchases that are not eligible to earn Rewards Points are set out in the Altitude Terms and Conditions. For example: payments to the Australian Taxation Office, cash advances, BPAY and BPAY equivalent transactions do not earn Reward Points. You do not receive points if your card account is in arrears for 2 consecutive statement cycles and in other circumstances.
