Help restore Australia’s landscape, one shop at a time

We’ve teamed up with Mastercard and the Priceless Planet Coalition to give you an easy way to help our unique and diverse bushland. For a limited time, a tree will be planted each time you use your Westpac Debit or Credit Mastercard when you make an online purchase from selected supermarkets.

Hectares of bushland were impacted by the bushfires, highlighting the fragile nature of this landscape, but together we can help this land flourish.

How it works

Step 1.

Buy groceries online from Woolworths, Coles, IGA or Harris Farm between 15 February 2021 and 12 March 2021 using your Westpac Debit or Credit Mastercard.

Step 2.

For every shop, Westpac and Mastercard will jointly donate a native tree to be planted in a region of Australia to restore our precious landscape.

More about the project

Established by Mastercard in partnership with the World Resources Institute, the Priceless Planet Coalition aims to restore forests in Earth’s most vulnerable geographies.

In Australia, the trees will be planted in the Southern Tablelands, Riverina and Western Sydney regions of New South Wales. After the devastation of the 2019 and 2020 bushfires, revitalising our landscape has never been more critical for providing wildlife’s habitat and improving biodiversity. The goal is to plant 400 trees per hectare, using a diverse mix of native seeds and seedlings chosen for their ability to assist with long-term wildfire and disaster resilience.

Greening Australia started conserving and restoring Australia’s landscapes in 1982, the international year of the tree, and haven’t stopped since. Greening Australia has worked on major projects that seek to transform landscapes in globally-significant areas across the country. Today, Greening Australia are a proudly independent organisation with teams in 30 locations and over 150 staff.
